Following a successful start to the season, NEOM Sports Club has named Alex Leitao as its new chief executive officer. Formerly the CEO of Brazilian football team, Club Athletico Paranaense, Leitao’s appointment reaffirms NEOM’s commitment to engaging the best athletic and coaching talent to champion the continued growth of the club.
The supertri League Grand Final will take place this Sunday, November 3 (14:00 local time), kicking off the NEOM Beach Games in Saudi Arabia. After four rounds of racing, this event marks the conclusion of the 2024 supertri League. supertri League has drawn audiences across Boston, Chicago, London, and Toulouse, showcasing many of the world’s best triathletes in a fast, tactical and technical format.
OXAGON - the floating industrial city under development in the southwest corner of the NEOM development in Saudi Arabia - is in talks to construct a 1GW artificial intelligence data center. An initial 400MW phase could be signed this year, claimed OXAGON’s CEO Vishal Wanchoo in an interview with Semafor.
NEOM has asked firms to submit revised offers by 10 November for the contract to build the tunnels that will serve as the railway junction connecting the Spine with the NEOM Connector. The previous deadline was 27 October. Known as the Delta Junction, the project involves 26.5 kilometres (km) of tunnelling work that will be split into two lots, one for the north and the other for the south.
The Saudi giga-project NEOM has secured SAR60 billion ($16 billion) in private sector funding and SAR30 billion ($8 billion) in loans as it tries to move away from reliance on government cash.
